Sarah Ann Currier

A service for Sarah Ann Currier was held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Church of Christ in Jefferson. Visitation was after 1:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson. Another visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Bruce Webster of the Church of Christ provided words of comfort. Honorary bearers were Bill Kendall Jr., Jerry Kendall, Ed Kendall, Howard Kendall, Jon Kendall and Sam Kendall. Casket bearers were Charles Klinkefus, Richard Currier, Daniel Currier, William Kendall, Jestin Currier and Mark Wright. Congregational hymns chosen were: Under His Wings, I'll Fly Away and My Name Is In The Book Of Life. Interment took place at the Jefferson Cemetery. Following the service at the cemetery was a luncheon at the church. Sarah Ann Currier, daughter of Louis Kendall and Leota Fern Heuton Kendall, was born October 4, 1938 in Jefferson, Iowa and died January 18, 2015 in Carroll, Iowa at the age of 76. After school Sarah moved to Washington where she met James H. Currier. They were united in marriage on December 3, 1975 at Ministry Home in Olympia, Washington. They moved back to Jefferson in 1988 to take care of Sarah's parents. Sarah ran a daycare out of her home. She enjoyed painting pictures, latch hook, playing video games, playing cards and reading the bible. Sarah was a member of the Church of Christ. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Leota Kendall, husband James Currier, sons Louis Allen and Vince Klinkefus, granddaughter Tanya Hill- Currier Fenin, sister Estella Shriver, brothers Bill Kendall Jr. (Felicia) and Ed Kendall, uncles Herb Kendall, Otha Kendall and Lester Griffiths, and aunts Lucille Childus and Vivian Stanley. Sarah is survived by her children: Richard Currier (Lisa) of Waterloo, IA, Howard Currier of Glidden, IA, Daniel Currier (Brenna) of Churdan, IA, Debra Klinkefus (Dan) of Bagley, IA, Dorothy Frost of WA and Charlie Klinkefus of NE; grandchildren: Kristie Frost, Trisha Frost, Ole Frost, Allen Frost, Art Frost, Sarah Leota Rankin, Gabriel Klinkefus, Timberlee Klinkefus, Charles Klinkefus, Christian Klinkefus, Evan Klinkefus, Dalton Currier, Tabatha Currier, Jestin Currier, James Currier, Tracy Hill- Currier, Marcus Hill-Currier, Sabrina Hill-Currier, Rita Hill-Currier Mild and James Currier; great-grandchildren: Zylan, Rilee, Simon, Trenten, Rowan, Kiana, Carmen, Natalie, Junior, Miguel, Olivia, Adrian and Meleia; step-sons Ricky Currier of WA and Jimmy Currier of WA; sisters Nola Antonen (Randy) of Grand Junction, IA and Dorothy Grubbs (Dale) of Dawson, IA; brothers Jerry Kendall (Judy) of Pittsburg, KS, , Howard Kendall (Reda) of San Antonio, TX, Jon Kendall (Petra) of Broke Arrow, OK and Sam Kendall of Jefferson, IA; sister-in-law Gail of Gibbes, NE; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
