Shane Denman

Shane Robert Denman passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on March 10th, 2022 in Des Moines, Iowa. Shane was born on May 4th, 1989 to Douglas and Julie Denman in McKinney, Texas. The family moved back to Iowa later that year and lived in Adel, Iowa. Shane graduated from Adel DeSoto Minburn High School in 2007, where he made friendships that lasted a lifetime. As a child, he enjoyed playing football and t-ball. It took him dozens of tries to hit or catch the ball, but he never gave up. He carried that attitude with him for the rest of his life; it may have taken him a while but he would always get it done. Shane enjoyed traveling, and though these adventures were rarely planned, he always managed to have a good time and come back with stories that would make his mother shake her head. Shane was the center of attention in every room he entered, regardless of the occasion, and that’s exactly how he preferred it. No matter what he was dealing with, he loved making those around him happy and did his best to help the ones he loved even if he couldn’t give himself the help he deserved. His loyalty was unmatched. Those who knew Shane knew that laughter was his medicine, he always knew how to break the tension with a raunchy joke and the occasional offensive impersonation, often at the expense of his loved ones. Shane was one of a kind, had a generous and thoughtful soul, and to know him was to love him. His memory will be kept alive in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be severely missed. Shane is survived by his mother, Julie Denman, brother Spencer Denman, sisters Alex Denman and Sydney Denman, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, Douglas Denman, paternal grandparents Bob and Barbara Denman, and maternal grandparents Darrell and Loretta Carper. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 15th, 2022 from 4-6pm at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home in Adel, Iowa.
