Sharene Kay England Culp, loving wife and mother, passed away at home in Des Moines on July 14, 2020. She was 58 years old. Sharene Culp was born December 29, 1961, to parents James and Marian (Bennett) England in Denver, Colorado. She had three younger brothers: Steven, Scott and Shad. Shari as her family always called her, spent her youth in Tingley, Iowa. Shari was baptized in 1976 at the Christian Church in Tingley. Joining the congregation there, she enjoyed sharing her singing talents with the congregation. Shari attended school from kindergarten through her 1980 high school graduation in Mt. Ayr Community School District. She was active in athletics, vocal music, swing choir, band and the drill team. She especially enjoyed her time twirling the fire baton in the marching band. Sharene served in the Iowa National Guard and Iowa Reserves from 1986- 1989. In 1986 Shari married classmate Jim Poore, and together they were parents of two sons, Andrew James and Lucas Emery. She was a very special mother who cared deeply for both of her sons. In 1994 Shari graduated with a RN degree from Mercy School of Nursing in Des Moines. Following a short career in nursing, Shari chose to be a stay-at -home mother to care for their autistic son, and later became a volunteer for the Autism Society of Iowa. The Poores divorced in 2006. In 2012 Sharene and Michael Culp were married. For eight years they have shared a very special precious love for each other that is so hard to put into words. Sharene would assure Michael with words: 'I love you to the moon and back', and he responded with his name for her: I love you my Queen Sharene. Sharene and Michael's personal relationship with Jesus was one of the most important and precious parts of their married life. They enjoyed watching Christian television and shared very special time in daily devotions. Sharene always looked forward to her weekly Bible study sessions with ladies of the church, enjoying the opportunity to meet and develop friendships with new ladies of the congregation. She blessed so many friends and relatives with her big beautiful smile and a laugh that will never ever be forgotten. She had a very big caring and loving heart, always wanting to help the homeless and other people in need. Sharene was a very outgoing, fun and free spirited person who loved to do things at the spur of the moment and enjoyed daring activities like riding motorcycles and skydiving. Because there were so many important scriptures to Sharene, it is hard to pick just one or two. Isaiah 40: 31 was probably one of her all time favorite scriptures: 'Those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.' She had a picture of an angel hovering over a child lying in a bed as she faithfully prayed Psalm 91:11 for her sons, 'For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways'. As she prayed, she would envision Andrew and Lucas as the child with a guardian angel hovering over them for protection from any harm; both boys meant the world to her. Sharene was preceded in death by her father James (Jim) England, step father Norman Jennings and her grandparents Charles and Dora (Swigart) Bennett and Lloyd and Evelyn (Smith) England. She is survived by her loving husband Michael Culp, sons Andrew Poore and Lucas Culp, mother Marian England Jennings, brothers Steven (Denae) England, Scott (Jodi) England, and Shad (Jody) England), mother-in-law Barbara Culp and 3 step children Courtney (Erik) Dunkin, Ashley (Bryce ) Hardt, Josh (Jenna) Culp, 12 step grandchildren T.J, Aubree, Isaac, Jordan, Jacob, Emma, Kate, Caleb Dunkin and Autumn and Eli Hardt and Posey and Eliza Culp, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. There will be a memorial service on Friday July 24th at 11 am at Des Moines First Church, 2725 Merle Hay Rd., Des Moines with a graveside service at the Tingley Cemetery at a later date. Memorials can be sent to the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1721 Park Street, Perry, IA 50220 and designated for the family (purchase of a cemetery stone). We will miss you Sharene
