Sharon Ruth Phillips

Sharon Phillips, age 80 of Perry, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Eden Acres Campus of Perry Lutheran Homes in Perry, IA. A memorial service will be held on February 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry . A private burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at a later date. Memorials will be given to Perry Lutheran Homes or her family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Online condolences may be left at www.carrisfuneralhome.com. Sharon Ruth Phillips was born on February 24, 1942, in Perry, IA to Donald Spencer and Ruth Mildred (McCann) Phillips. She was homeschooled by her very attentive mother. Sharon lived in a Mosaic home in Des Moines prior to moving to Eden Acres in 2022. She worked and attended programs at Link Associates in Des Moines for 21 years until her retirement in 2019. She was a volunteer at Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. Sharon was an advocate for access for special needs and handicapped individuals. Her care givers said she had a great sense of humor and good manners. In death she rejoins her parents Donald and Ruth and Cousin Neva Laborde. Left to cherish Sharons memory are her many cousins and several aunts in the central Iowa area, including Robert (Mary) Laborde, Larry (Pearl) Laborde, Ken (Karen) Laborde and Harry Laborde.
