Sherry Minshall

November 17, 1975 — April 14, 2018

Sherry (Daggett) Minshall, 42, of Adel passed away April 14, 2018 (NOT April 13th as expected because Sherry was never one to be predictable) at Kavanagh Hospice House surrounded by family and friends. Sherry is survived by her husband, Jeremiah or “Miah” as she lovingly and sometimes exasperatingly called him; four kids who were the lights of her life, Drew “Drew Mague”, Brandon “Bubba”, Tanner “Tater Tot”, and Allie “Bean”; father, Dennis Walker of Adel; brother, Tad (Jackie) Peterson, nephew Jake, and niece Alyssa, all of North Carolina; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Janet Walker and biological father, Harold Daggett. Sherry was born in Des Moines, Iowa on November 17, 1975 to Janet Walker and Harold Daggett. Sherry graduated from ADM High School in 1994. When she was in 3rd grade, she let 1st grader Jeremiah Minshall kiss her hand with the condition that he would then leave her alone which he did until his senior year when he could no longer resist her charms, and the rest as they say, is history. Sherry married Jeremiah on October 19, 1996 and to this union four amazing children were born. Sherry worked a variety of jobs throughout her life but her most recent one was as an analyst at Wells Fargo. Sherry was a member of the De Soto Calvary Baptist Church and loved Jesus and her church family more than she ever thought possible when Jeremiah had to drag her to church 7 years ago. Sherry loved her animals, “petting the makeup” at Sephora, lemons (life gave her a lot of them), YouTube tutorials, reality TV and anything pink and sparkly (just like her personality). But she loved her kids and family the mostest. Sherry leaves behind the memory of a million laughs varying from laughs of actual hilarity, to laughs of forewarning as in “I’m going to hurt someone”, to laughs of “this is awkward” to laughs of “it’s either laugh or cry.” Sherry loved to laugh and those around her loved to hear her laugh, except for that one laugh which they knew meant YOU’D BETTER RUN FOR COVER. Sherry was stubborn even right up until the very end, sassy, sarcastic and sweet all wrapped up in one beautiful package. She fought her cancer battle with grace, strength and humor and is an inspiration to all who knew her. Til we meet again.
