Sherry Sue Shutt

Sherry Sue Shutt, daughter of Seymour Gray and Mardella Smith Gray, was born January 21, 1960 in Yocum Hospital, Chariton, Iowa and died at her home in Grand Junction, Iowa on March 25, 2017, at the age of 57. Sherry attended school in Chariton, later receiving her GED and CAN certification. She worked at the Chariton Nursing Home when only 17. She was united in marriage with Douglas Wayne Shutt on June 9, 1978. They enjoyed 39 years of marriage. Sherry was a hard worker, completing many years with the Perry Manor, the Perry Lutheran Home and the Rowley Home, all in Perry, Iowa. She cared for her mother-in-law in their home for 14 years until her death January 15, 2017. Sherry enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles and watching soap operas, especially "The Young and the Restless". She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Ralph Shore, and her parents-in-law, Don and Theresa Shutt and bother-in-law Daniel. Sherry is survived by her husband Doug of Grand Junction, IA; two sons, Jamie Shore of Grand Junction, IA; and Gary Shutt (Sarah) of Chariton, IA; nine grandchildren, Trista Shore, Zachary Shore, Taylor Shore, Lexi Shore, Ladusaka Jones, Dakota Vrem, Alysha Shutt, Brandon Shutt, and Courtney Shounkwiler, step-mother Bonnie Gray, other relatives, and friends.
