Shessla Ti (Dickson) Whitlow

Shessla Ti (Dickson) Whitlow, of Windsor Heights, passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2018 at the age of 38. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel in Adel. Family will greet friends Monday, July 2nd at the funeral home from 5 to 7 PM. Shessla was born on October 17, 1979 in Des Moines, IA to Helen K. Dickson (Warner) and Norman “Pete” S. Dickson. She was the youngest of seven, two girls and five boys. She graduated from West Central Valley and went to AIB, where she graduated with her degree in Accounting. Due to health problems, she was unable to continue working in the accounting field. She had a passion for helping people so she became an In Home Health Aide, where she was able to help others with daily tasks, from house cleaning to shopping or just someone to talk with. She also had a love for animals. Her cat whom she loved dearly, named Cheesy, will miss her deeply. She volunteered at ARL, with her son Bryce, and also was a core volunteer for the Epilepsy Foundation. She enjoyed going shopping every Friday with her Dad, because she always had the coupons. Shessla loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a great Mom, daughter, sister, and aunt and will be deeply missed. Shessla leaves behind a son, Bryce Whitlow; father, Pete Dickson; sister, Shalea (Preston) Fleming; brothers, Jimmy (Jeanine), Bryon (Darla), Tony (Tammie), Randy (Rosanne), and Scott Dickson; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen K. Dickson; nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and her maternal grandparents.
