Shirley Hulbert

Shirley A. (Hendricks) Hulbert, 93, of Winterset, passed away at Azria Health of Winterset on January 5, 2025. 

She was born on March 19, 1931, in Winterset, the daughter of Milo and Josie (Brittain) Hendricks. She was a 1949 graduate of Winterset High School. 

Shirley was a lifelong resident of Winterset, and a member of The First United Methodist Church. She and Chuck Hulbert were married on May 21,1950. They were the parents of two children, Diane (John) Robbins and David. 

Shirley worked for many years at the J.C. Penney store in Winterset, until it’s closing.

Shirley is survived by her granddaughter, Christy (Mike) Smith; grandson-in-law, David Thomas; and great grandsons, Johnathan Robbins, Holden Thomas, Tyler Robbins, and Robbie Robbins. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Milo and Josie Hendricks; her husband, Chuck; their children Diane and David; a granddaughter, Jamie Thomas; a great grandson, Dakota Thomas; sisters, Mary Tyer, Mabel Parker, and Pauline Davis; and brother, Clyde Hendricks.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 9:30 to 11:00 am. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the North McDonald Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the North McDonald Cemetery Association. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.caldwellparrish.com.
