Shirley Wildin, 90, of Winterset passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Sun City, Arizona. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, at the Patterson United Methodist Church in Patterson. Burial will follow in the Montpelier Cemetery near Patterson. Memorials may be directed to the Patterson United Methodist Church and online condolences can be left at ochiltree.com. Shirley Jean Wildin, daughter of Roy and Lillian (Yoder) Potter, was born March 11, 1927 in West Des Moines. She attended school in the Patterson area. Shirley was united in marriage with Darrel Wayne Wildin on August 20, 1942, in Bethany, Missouri. Shirley was a farm wife who was always busy helping on the farm. She was a member of the Patterson Methodist Church and their Women’s Group. She was also a member of the Farm Bureau Women, Republican Women and was a past 4-H Leader. Shirley was a talented cook who always had food on the table for all. She enjoyed listening to music and was an avid reader. Shirley and Darrel enjoyed going to estate sales and the couple loved wintering in Arizona. Above all else, Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who cherished spending time with her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her husband of 75 years, Darrel Wildin of Winterset; four children, Douglas (Paula) Wildin of Sun City West, AZ; Gary (Beth) Wildin of Sun City, AZ; Charlotte (Norman) Gordon of Winterset; Jill Alles of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Doris Ray; two brothers, Dale Potter and Jack Potter; a granddaughter, Michelle Carley and a great grandson, Anthony Gordon.
