Stanley Baltunis, Jr.

Stanley Baltunis Jr., 92, passed away on October 10, 2021. He was born on March 20, 1929 to Stanley Baltunis Sr. and Julia “Tickal” Baltunis in Mason City. In 1951, Stanley joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He married the love of his life Beverly on October 8, 1955. In 1958, they moved to Des Moines. Stanley worked various jobs over the years. He worked at EFCO as a machinist for 8 years, Per Mar Security, Lewis System Security, and later retired at Lister Concrete. Stanley loved to go boating, fishing, going to casinos, playing card games, and picking up pop cans. He also loved going to the car wash to clean out vacuums and the wash bays. He loved spending time with his grandchildren fishing, bike riding and hours of quality time spent. Stanley is survived by his daughters Cindy (Jim) Hutchins and Dorothy Haines; sister Rose Briggs; grandchildren Donna Janssen (Bryan Flatt), Anthony J. Haines, Joe (Jessica) Antomori and David (Lacey) Antomori; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, 4 sisters, 3 son-in-laws and many other family and friends. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory, 8201 Hickman Rd., Urbandale, IA 50322. A burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Mason City at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.
