Stephen Craig Ball, born on April 11, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2023. He was the cherished son of Claris “Mike” and Opal (Cunconan) Ball and the youngest among his three siblings.
Steve's educational journey began at St. Peter's Catholic Grade School, followed by Dowling Catholic High School, and graduated from East High School. On November 8, 1975, he embarked on a lifelong journey with the love of his life Anne Tiefenthaler, and together they were blessed with two sons, Mike in 1981 and Kenny in 1984.
Steve was a man of many passions. He enjoyed the game of golf, the satisfaction of hard work, and the challenges and rewards of running his own electrical business. His dedication to his family and friends was unwavering, leaving a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
In 1987, Steve realized his dream of entrepreneurship by founding Ball Electric. Over the years, he worked tirelessly to build a successful business, and in 2016, he passed the torch to his son Mike, who now owns and operates Ball Electric, ensuring the family legacy lives on.
Steve leaves behind his loving wife, Anne, his sons, Mike and Kenny, his brother, Roger, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Randall and Pat.
A graveside service for Steve will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. There will be a luncheon at Christopher's Restaurant in Beaverdale following the service.
