Steve Cline, 72, of Winterset died January 25, 2018, at his home. A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2018, at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites 1304 N. 4th Avenue in Winterset where his family will greet friends during this time. A private burial will be held in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Winterset Husky Booster Club and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com Larry Steven Cline, son of Glenn and Patricia (Bricker) Cline, was born May 21, 1945, in Waukegan, Illinois at the Victory Memorial Hospital. He graduated from Winterset High School in 1963 and later received a B.A degree in Business Administration from Drake University in 1967. Steve was involved in the early years of computer programing and spent most of his career working with his knowledge of computers with the State of Iowa, Fisher Controls in Marshalltown as well as several other employers. His last employment was with the Iowa State Fair working in grounds maintenance. During high school, Steve participated in Cross Country and Track. In 1960, he was a member of the three-man Cross Country team who were state champions and in 1963, he was a member of the Winterset Track Team who also won a state championship. He also loved archery, competing in many competitions. He attended the 1972 Olympics in Munich to watch the archery events. Steve’s interest in archery also led him to be an avid bow hunter. He was a member of the National Archery Association (NAA), National Field Archery Association (NFAA) and the Iowa State Archery Association (ISAA) where he served as an officer for several years. Steve is survived by his four brothers, Dennis Cline of Chester, VA, Robert (Marty) Cline of Winterset, Kevin (Teresa) Cline of Des Moines, and David (Mary) Cline of Patterson; several aunts, uncles; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Patricia and a nephew, Stacy White.
