Steven Earl Roberts

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Steven Earl Roberts at the age of 77. He left us on February 18th, 2025 after a long hard-fought battle with MS. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at Caldwell Parish Funeral Home and Crematory (8201 Hickman Rd, Urbandale, IA 50322) from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, 2025, at 10:00am at Caldwell Parish Funeral Home and Crematory. All friends and family are welcome. A private family interment will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.

Steven Roberts was born on June 10th, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa. He was married to his wife Judy for 54 years and was involved in helping his sons with Boy Scouts and baseball. Steven enlisted in the United States Army serving in the 101st Airborne Division in the Vietnam War. After his term of service he entered the world of sales and loved it. Starting off as a stock boy, working his way up to retail management then becoming a dedicated real estate agent.

With a servant’s heart and a pocket full of spare change (just in case he found a rare coin), Steve lived a life full of love and laughter with an impressive collection of stamps and a Pez collection. He was the kind of man you would always go to for anything – advice, if you wanted it, a helping hand, or a friendly game of cards (though winning against him was never easy).

 In his younger days he found joy in golf and tennis. Whether he was riding his motorcycle with his wife, Judy, strategizing over a board game, or hunting for the next collective treasure, he embraced life with curiosity and enthusiasm.

Later, Steve and Judy found New Point Church, In Urbandale Iowa, which seemed like a second home to them. Steve was an elder, deacon and on the board and served in other capacity’s at New Point. Though we will miss his spontaneity and laughter, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace. Perhaps playing the perfect round of golf, finding the rarest stamp, or dealing a heavenly hand of cards.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Roberts Sr.; mother, Flossie Roberts and his brother, Lewis (Sonny) Roberts Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Judy (Zahina) Roberts; children, Chris (Blanca), Justin, and Nathan. Steve was devoted to his 5 grandchildren, Ethan, Dylan, Michael, Peyton and Kelly.
