Sue Ann Swarts

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 23rd with fellowship time at 10 a.m. and a service at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Church in Boone. Sue Swarts, 75, of Boone grew up in Perry, Iowa the daughter of shoe repairman. She married Jim Ward and to this union, three children were born. The couple later divorced. On Dec 29, 1990, Sue married Mike Swarts. Mike and Sue enjoyed spending time with family, riding ATVs with the Des Moines River Ridge Riders ATV Club, volunteering at the warming hut for the Ice rink, and finding treasures at local sales and auctions. Sue also enjoyed sharing time with friends as part of the Red Hat Society and Questers. Sue retired from the Boone Post Office after over thirty years of service. Sue died on February 7, 2022, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Sue is survived by her husband Michael; daughter Cynthia Sue Dierking (Ken) of Boone; son Johnathan Ward (Amy) of Boone; son William Ward (Danielle) of Boone; stepdaughter Michelle Swarts Corbin (Donnie) of Saylorville Township; grandchildren Keaton and Sophie Dierking, Taylor Ward and Ashley Ward Johnson (Kirby), Peyton, Trysten, and Ethan Ward, and Kimberly Jillsen; and great-grandson Carter. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of these arrangements. Memorials in Sue's name may be sent to Box #204 - Perry, IA 50220.
