Susan Rae Billmeier, daughter of Jim Fagan and Dorothy Hamm Morton Fagan, was born February 26, 1949 at Glidden, Iowa and died November 15, 2009 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 60 years, 8 months, and 19 days, a funeral service was held at 7:00 pm. Thursday, November 19, at Hastings Funeral Home with Rev. Sheri Daylong, pastor of the United Methodist Church, in Jefferson, Iowa, presiding honorary bearers were James Billmeier, Laura Billmeier, Jacob Billmeier, Christa Billmeier, Kaylee Billmeier, and Steven Billmeier. Her recorded music The Rose, I Will Testify To Love, Tears In Heaven, My Father's House and Hole In The Floor of Heaven, granddaughters Christa Billmeier and Kaylee Billmeier recited poems that they had written for their grandmother. Family and friend had a lunch and fellowship in the lounge at Hastings after the services. Sue attended school in Glidden. She worked for a time in Carroll and in 1968 married Robert L.J. Billmeier. They lived in Carroll, Dedham, Coon Rapids, and in 1976 moved to Jefferson. She had worked for Garst Seed in Coon Rapids, and locally the Duseyburger, Pizza Hut, Casey's for 6 years, and the Redwood Motel in the 80's. Sue was a very loving person who enjoyed her years of babysitting and caring for the elderly. Sue collected chickens (lots of roosters!!) working in her garden, planting and caring for flowers, cooking and baking. She was always a hard worker. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, her twin children, and brothers Pat and Johnny Fagan and sister-in-law Judy Fagan. Sue is survived by her husband Robert; sons Ron and wife Coreen of Logan, Iowa; Tony and wife Sherri of Woodbine, Iowa; 2 brothers Larry Fagan of Omaha, Nebraska and Tim Fagan and wife Linda of Lanesboro, Iowa; 3 sisters Sandy Ford and husband Dennis; Georgie Bradley and husband Norman; Terri Wilsey and husband Jerry, all of Jefferson, Iowa; nieces, nephews, mother-in-law Ione Daisy of Carroll, Iowa; sisters -in-law Betty Fagan; Gloria Swanson and husband Ken; Cindy Cox; Linda Leithing; Bev Maybee and husband Sheldon; brothers-in-law Marvin Cox and wife Faith and Leo Billmeier and wife Donna; other relatives and friends.
