Sue Corkrean, 76, of Winterset died Friday, April 20, 2018, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A visitation will be held from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, at Ochiltree Funeral Service, with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Winterset with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Carolyn Sue Corkrean, daughter of James and Francis (Kirvin) Corkrean, was born March 20, 1942, in Madison County, Iowa. She attended schools in Madison County and graduated from St. Joseph Academy in 1961. Sue worked as a bank teller for most of her working career; which included the Farmers and Merchants Bank for 27 years, managing the Motor Bank; and later working as a teller for the American State Bank both of Winterset. Sue was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Winterset. She was a talented baker and cook, her specialties being, homemade caramels, chili and pumpkin bars. Sue loved to bargain shop and enjoyed finding a good deal. She was also very proud of her Irish heritage. Her greatest treasure was her grandchildren and she cherished the time she was able to spend with them. All this said, Sue was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed. Sue is survived by her three sons, Thomas Gonsiorczyk of Stechlin, Germany; Pat (Kelley) Teno of Ankeny; Patrick (Jen) Corkrean of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Megan Teno, Jacob Teno, Kate Corkrean, and Erin Corkrean; siblings, Mary Corkrean, Pat (Nancy) Corkrean; Larry (Debby) Corkrean all of Winterset; sisters-in-law, Pat Corkrean, Shirley Corkrean, Barb Corkrean all of Winterset; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Phillip, and Gene Corkrean; and a sister, Elizabeth (Carl) Neal.
