Teresa Kanealy

Teresa Carol Kanealy, daughter of Elmer Ross Barr and Ruth Irene Lindsey Barr, was born February 14, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa, and died May 28, 2010 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 61. Teresa was lovingly known as "TT" to her family. Teresa graduated from Perry High School in 1967. She later received her Associate Degree in Applied Sciences from Des Moines Area Community College in 1990. Teresa was married to Dennis O'Brien Kanealy August 14, 1967 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Perry. They were blessed with two sons, Jacob John who died when only two days old and Joshua. Teresa and Dennis lived their entire married lives in Perry. She worked for Meadow Gold during high school. Teresa worked in the housekeeping department at the Dallas County Hospital. She had worked for Harlan Hardware as a bookkeeper for many years. Teresa used her degree, working as an accounting specialist for Wells Fargo in their corporate offices. She was currently working there, having twenty years of service. Teresa enjoyed her membership in the St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Regina Guild. She enjoyed bowling and she and Dennis had been active in couples' leagues. Teresa was an avid reader, crocheted, and liked going to Prairie Meadows and Tama to gamble a bit. She was honored to serve on the Planning and Zoning Board for the city of Perry. In addition to her precious baby son, Teresa was preceded in death by her father Elmer, father-in-law and mother-in-law Donald and Edna Kanealy; nephew Andy Eiteman, great nephew Casey Eiteman, nephew Randy Kanealy and brother-in-law John Kanealy. She will be lovingly remembered and missed greatly by her husband Dennis, son Joshua, mother Ruth, brothers and sisters Ruthann Eiteman (Frank), Norma Jean Foresman, Teddy Barr (Phyllis) all of Perry; Sherrie Lindsey of Indiana, Jo Anderson (Tim) of Clive, David Barr of Perry, Candy Gardner (Randy) of Clive and Wes Barr of Perry; brother-in-law Tom Kanealy of West Des Moines; and sister-in-law Rose Kanealy of Cedar Rapids; nephews and nieces, Brian Eiteman (Deanna), Joel Eiteman (Sara), Jamie Eiteman (Lori), Stacy Defenbaugh (Ronny), Steve Foresman (Caroline), and Scott Foresman (Beth), Andrew, Brandon, Chad, Derrick, and Elaina Barr; Jason Anderson (god son); Sam and Slade Gardner; Zach and Kaitlyn Barr; and Jennifer, Abigail, and Brian Kanealy; Abigail Guizzetti (John) and Jennifer Shelburg (Eric); also her great nieces and nephews, Cassie Eiteman; Jennifer, Kassie, Kory, Lacy, and Brady Eiteman; Devon, Cayl, and Tyler Booth; Madison Stonehocker, Lane Pace, Ashley Defenbaugh, Emily Pace (god daughter), Annelise, Maggie, and Drew Foresman; Skye and Kaleb Bainbridge; and Gunnar Anderson; Colt and Cassidy Shelburg; several aunts and uncles, many cousins and many friends.
