Teresa Ann Thompson of Des Moines, Iowa died on June 12, 2022. She was born in Osceola, Iowa, January 7, 1920. Her parents were Harry E. and Mary T. Thompson. She attended school in Osceola from kindergarten through junior college. After graduating, she worked in Osceola for a rather short time, then moved to Des Moines, where she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper for a number of years. She then furthered her education at Drake University. Upon completion, she entered the field of education as a teacher, and later the Iowa Department of Social Services, from which she retired. Teresa Thompson was a devout Catholic and member of the Basilica of Saint John (formerly called St. John’s Catholic Church) for 80 years, and was a member of various organizations. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Leonard Thompson, sister Barbara Fath and is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. Recitation of the rosary will begin at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 16, 2022 with a visitation to follow at 11:00 am at the Basilica of Saint John. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm, also at the Basilica of Saint John. Internment will be at Glendale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Basilica of Saint John.
