Terry Mickle, 72, of Windsor Heights passed away June 16, 2022 at the VA Central Iowa Care Center in Des Moines after a battle with cancer. Terry was born October 23, 1949 to parents Vernon and Elva (McDowell) Mickle. He graduated from DM Technical High School in 1967. He studied briefly at Grand View college before joining the US Navy, where he served his country from September 1968 to September 1970 as a Seabee in Okinawa. Terry married the love of his life, Joan (Davis) on September 9, 1972. They were blessed with three children: Christopher, Jennifer, and Bradley. Terry was a master electrician, starting his electrical career at Ace Heating and Electric, and later founding Mickle Electric and Heating in Des Moines. In free times throughout the years he could be found coaching baseball/softball for his children at Beaverdale Little League, or playing the game himself in various leagues. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, golfing, snowmobiling, and traveling with family. As a master bridge player, Terry often enjoyed playing bridge with his good friend and bridge partner, Dennis Ashby, at the Des Moines Bridge House. He was also a devoted fan to the Iowa Hawkeyes. Terry was loved by many, and would regularly say how blessed he was, and that his life was wonderful and fulfilling. He will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Chris (Angel) Mickle, Jennifer (Josh) Wade, Brad “B.J.” Mickle; grandchildren Keira and Mia Mickle, Hayden and Kennedy Wade.
