Terry Lynn Waddingham was born on November 14, 1950 to Arnett and Irene (Suckow) Waddingham in Clear Lake, Iowa. The family lived in the Clear Lake area until he was 16 years old before moving to Macksburg where he graduated from Orient Macksburg High School in 1970. On April 1, 1973, Terry married Carla Herren, the love of his life, at the Macksburg United Methodist Church, where they were lifetime members. Terry served in the United States Army from January 1971 to January 1974. He was stationed in Missouri and Kansas, and served in Vietnam and Germany throughout his time in the service.

He spent a majority of his life living in Madison County and was happy to call Winterset his home, where they raised their two boys. He was a member of the Winterset American Legion Post #184. Terry was proud to have worked for the Iowa DOT for 36 years. After retirement he worked for Farm Service for 5 years. He also worked over 50 years part time for his friend, Marvin Eivins.

Terry enjoyed farming and helping his neighbors. He loved to travel with his brothers to Alaska, Hawaii, Ireland and a ranch in western Nebraska. You could also find Terry enjoying coffee with friends, relaxing at a campground, offering silly advice on a variety of topics, and cheering on the Huskies and Tigers. His sons and grandkids were his absolute joy. He took great pride in being a sports grandpa to his grandkids and their friends.

Terry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carla of Winterset; son, Curtis (Michelle) of Adel; grandchildren, Cole Jeremy, Carson Taylor, and Cara Ruth; siblings, Tim of Macksburg, Mick (Linda Oglesbee) of Lorimor, Vicky (Rick) of Lorimor, Steve (Deb) of Macksburg, Deb (Jim) of Richmond, VA, Connie (Larry) of Dexter, and Kevin (Cindy) of Creston; along with multiple nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnett and Irene; son, Jeremy Lynn; brothers, Kenneth and Richard; sister-in-law, Marlene; and nephew Tyler.
