Thomas "Tom" James Tucker

Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson is in charge of arrangements for Tom Tucker, 56, of Des Moines, formerly of Jefferson. Tom died at his home December 15, 2016. Celebration of Life will be held after 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 with family present from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson. Thomas James Tucker "Tom", son of Ronald James Tucker and Lillian Tucker Herridge, was born November 27, 1960 in Jefferson, Iowa and died December 15, 2016 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 56. Tom was raised in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980. After high school he started his family. He was blessed with five children Amanda, Brandon, Natasha, Anthony and Nicole. Tom was a good skater and could even dance on his roller skates. He had many talents including wood working, mechanics, painter, carpentry and many more. Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Ron Tucker Tom is survived by his mother Lillian Herridge of Jefferson; children: Amanda Tucker of Lamoni, IA; Brandon Tucker of Aurora, CO; Natasha Tucker of Ft. Lupton, CO; Anthony Tucker of Rock Island, IL; and Nicole Tucker of Bayard, IA; sister Linda Tucker Karber of Jefferson, IA; brother Sean Herridge (fianc Janine Anderson) of Ft. Dodge, IA; half-brothers Ron Tucker (Angie) of Freemont, IA and Larry Tucker of Austin, TX; step-brother Gordie Herridge (Janet) of Jefferson; step-sisters Mary Herridge Johnston of Curtis, NE, Vicky Herridge of Jefferson, IA and Dee Ann Herridge Estrada of San Antonio, TX; step brother-in-law Larry Rutherford of Pomeroy, IL and step sister Sandy Tucker Stanbrough of Oskaloosa.
