Thuong Pham

Thuong Pham, 72 years of age, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at his home. Thuong was born April 10, 1948 in Nhu Lam, Ninh Binh Vietnam to the late Pham Thuong and Pham thi Sen. He was the Oldest of eight children, one (Bac Pham) preceded his in death. Thuong was educated in the Ba ria School System in Vietnam. Thuong married the late Ninh Nguyen in 1968 and four children were born from this union. Thuong professed his life to Christ at an early age. In 1985, Thuong escaped Vietnam by boat alongside with his son and many other Vietnamese. After five days of dangerous sailing, Thuong boat reached Malaysia. He spent six months in Malaysia and six months in the Philippines, living in refugee camps where he learned english. Thuong and his son arrived in America in January 1987, His wife and daugthers later came to Des Moines, IA in 1997 and reunited the family. He loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord. Serving on several committees, always enjoying helping others until his health prevented his services. Thuong leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife of 74 year Ninh Nguyen, his children, Thu Pham(Daughter), Tuan Pham (Son) Vi Nguyen (daughter in law), Hang Pham (Daughter) and Lan Pham (Daughter); 7 grandchildren, and Mung Pham (Sister), Toi Pham (Sister), Tien Pham (Sister), Josheph Pham ( Brother), Vannesa Pham (Sister), Tuyet Pham (Sister) host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday Octobor 24, 2020 at St. Peter Church in Des Moines, IA. Interment will be at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach, California.
