Timothy Joe Daugherty, age 69, life long resident of Adel, became an angel Sunday, October 3, 2021. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church, 602 S 14th Street, in Adel, with burial following at Panther Creek Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10th, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel, 735 S 14th Street, in Adel. Tim was born in Des Moines, IA, on March 26, 1952, to Eugene and Joan Daugherty. His young life was filled with both farm and city life adventures, growing up with his 3 brothers, Mike, Pat and Kelly. Tim’s strong work ethic started at a young age, which helped him achieve success on the basketball court - earning him a spot in the ADM High School Hall of Fame. Tim still holds records for the school to this day! Shortly after high school, Tim met the love of his life, Jackie Zoss, and they have spent 48 glorious years together, since joining in marriage on May 26, 1973. During those 48 years, Tim was busy accomplishing many great things! He spoke fondly of many memories: being a two term Mayor for the city of De Soto, and buying out and starting his successful earth moving business in 1980, which he was still operating until the end. All who loved Tim know there wasn’t a heavy machine he didn’t like running, but most importantly he loved his Catepillar bulldozer! His most important accomplishment, however, was raising his two sons, Tony and Joe, who in turn gave him four wonderful grandsons. The grandkids were his passion and he was always full of love and encouragement for them. In his later years, he looked forward to going to as many events for his grandkids as possible. Tim is survived by his wife, Jackie; his sons, Tony (Vicki) Daugherty of Atkins, and Joe (Sarah) Daugherty of Waukee; his four grandchildren, Evan 16 and Blake 16 (Tony), and Caleb 12 and Andrew 9 (Joe); his siblings, Mike (Debbie) Daugherty of Arizona, Pat (Marilyn) Daugherty and Kelly (Leilani) Daugherty, both of Adel. Tim was proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Joan Daugherty; his brother, Jerry; and his grandmother, Elizabeth Snyder. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Faith Lutheran Church Building Fund, 602 S 14th St, Adel, IA 50003. Online condolences may be left on this website.
