Tina Louise Collins

Tina Louise Collins, 53, of Knoxville, IA, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. A visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday February 6, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale, IA. A celebration of life will be held 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. Inurnment will be held at a later date at New Virginia Cemetery in New Virginia, IA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the family for a memorial bench in New Virginia. Tina was born on July 4, 1970 in Des Moines to Gary and Dorothy (Clark) Huss. She graduated from Interstate 35 High School in 1988. Her greatest accomplishment were her 2 children, Kelcie and Grant, from a previous marriage. She spent over 30 years working in multiple roles with Mercy Hospital, where she made numerous lifelong relationships. After miraculously surviving a near death experience with sepsis in 2016, she advocated for sepsis awareness and chose to live every day to the fullest. God blessed her family with an additional 7 wonderful years with her. In 2021, she met the love of her life, Jeremy White. They spent their time drag racing, traveling the Midwest, and riding her Harley. She passionately gave her time and effort to the Marion County Humane Society, and spent every Sunday caring for the shelter animals. She was a bright light, so positive and giving, and a friend to all. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her significant other, Jeremy White, her children Kelcie Collins (Caleb Smith), and Grant Collins (Wilhelmina Six), her parents, Gary and Dorothy (Clark) Huss, her brother Terry Huss (Rae Huss), and 4 nephews, Justin Huss, Ryan Huss, Zachary Spilker, and Austin Spilker.
