A visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday October 28, 2016 at Ochiltree Funeral Service in Winterset, where family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation and online condolences may be left at ochiltree.com. Tom Leroy Hamilton, son of TJ and Marilyn (Skoglund) Hamilton, was born June 29, 1955 in Kewanee, Illinois. He graduated from Clarke High School in Osceola in 1973. Tom was united in marriage with Jane Neisemier on November 2, 1980 in Murray, Iowa. Tom was self-employed most of his adult life; he farmed, built houses, drove truck and operated heavy machinery. He was a jack-of-all-trades and loved to fix and tinker with his various projects. Tom enjoyed running his backhoe and giving his grandchildren rides on a wagon he pulled with his tractor-mower. He loved the dogs he had rescued from the kennel. Tom recently had a hobby of planting trees on his ground. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who cherished nothing more than the time he spent with his family. Left to cherish Tom’s memory are his wife of 36 years, Jane Hamilton of Prole; three children, Lee Hamilton of Cumming; Melinda (Justin) Holliday of Winterset; Brett (Chelsea Scheidler) Hamilton of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Cooper Hamilton; Emma Holliday; mother, Marilyn Hamilton of Osceola; five sisters, Vicky (Craig) Luce; Pam (Dave) Hewitt; Betty (Doug) Craig; Beth (Rick) Larrington; Debbie (Joe) Hewitt; four brothers, Doug (Karen) Hamilton; Mike (Angel) Hamilton; Ed Hamilton; Larry (Rhonda) Hamilton; brother-in-law, Harold Fuller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, TJ Hamilton and his sister, Linda Fuller.
