Tonya Anne (Moon) Walrod, age 59, of De Soto, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston, with her family beside her. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home – McCalley Chapel in Adel. Family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, before the service at the funeral home. Tonya was born on March 24, 1962, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Ernie and Anne (Brennan) Moon. She went to school in Saginaw. Tonya had three beautiful daughters from a previous marriage, and later married Michael (Wombat) Walrod. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, caring for her plants, traveling and being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Tonya is survived by her husband, Michael (Wombat); her children, Jennifer (Jeremy) St. Peter, Kyra (Rob) Hatch, Meagan (Nathan) Roberts; her step-daughter, Alicia Walrod (Mike Fagerstrom); her grandchildren, Taylor, Jaxson, Connor, Annabelle, Gavin, Norah and Henry; her siblings, John (Thanh) Moon and Chuck Moon; her aunts, Bertie Gilbert and Jackie (Jerry) Meyer; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; and her father and mother-in-law, Bud and Lee Walrod.
