Velma Ann Gruber

Velma Gruber, age 86 of Granger and formerly of Dothan, AL, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at her home in Granger, IA. A private memorial service will be held at her home. Memorials will be given to American Cancer Society or Unity Point Hospice of Urbandale and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Velma Ann Gruber was born on February 4, 1936, at Pontiac, MI to EJ and Hattie Lucille (Putnam) Cooper. She graduated from Cass City, MI High School. Velma was united in marriage to John Gruber at Oklahoma City, OK on December 28, 1993. She worked at and retired from General Motors in Saginaw, MI. She enjoyed going bowling. In death she rejoins her husband John, parents EJ and Lucille Cooper, 4 siblings, and a stepson Joseph Gruber. Left to cherish Velmas memory are her children, Valerie Albrecht, Granger, IA, Pamela (Michael) Finestead, Granger, IA and Kim (Michael) Low, Davenport, FL, stepsons, William (Becky) Gruber, Dothan, AL and Michael (Daureen) Gruber, Jacksonville, FL, 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 7 step great grandchildren, 10 siblings and many nieces and nephews.
