Venetta Jane 'Jane' Teas

Venetta Jane Teas, 79 of Adel, formerly of Linden, passed away January 8, 2018. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at New Hope Evangelical Free Church near Adel, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Inurnment will be at a later date at West Linn Cemetery near Linden. Family will greet friends Friday, January 12, 2018 at New Hope Evangelical Free Church near Adel from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Venetta was born July 28, 1938 in Des Moines to James and Elsie (Gilbert) Bennett. She married Kenneth Teas on August 11, 1962 in South Dakota. She was a stay at home mom, taking care of her kids. She then worked at Woolco, Parker Brothers, and Adel Acres as a CNA until she retired. Venetta’s Faith in Christianity was very important to her. She enjoyed telling jokes; known for her distinct laugh, with a smile that could light up a room; enjoyed visiting with everyone; was very on top of politics and loved Coke a Cola and coffee. Ventetta is survived by her children, Daniel (Cindy) Teas, Kris Teas, and Michelle (Jerry) Jenkins; grandchildren, Zachery (Tonya) Teas, Rebecca Teas, Ross (Kayla) Jenkins, and Kayse Jenkins; 14 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, plus extended family from Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents, James and Elsie; and her siblings, Jimmy Bennett, Janet Baker and Joseph Bennett, Sr. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Venetta.
