Vera Jean Reves - Adel

Vera Jean Reves passed away Sunday, April 20, 2014. She was a life long resident of Dallas County, living primarily in Adel and Waukee, and graduated from Waukee High School. Memorial Services will be 4:00 PM Saturday, May 3, 2014 at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. Her family will greet friends from 2-4 PM prior to services. A private burial of her cremated remains will be at Walnut Township Cemetery in Waukee. Vera was the first born of Carl Fremont Hunter and Helen Louise Stump. Vera married Harry L. Reves in 1948. She is survived by a son, David L. Reves; a daughter, Susan Jean Bish; two sisters, Carolyn Knoll and Laura Kay Warford; four grandchildren, Nichole (Mark) M. Greteman, Jonathan (Amber) G. Reves, McKenzie (Cy) L. Lyle and Richard L. Reves; two great-grand daughters, Morgan Elizabeth Greteman and Hadleigh Jean Lyle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; a brother, John Russell Hunter; two grandchildren, William L. Bish and Lindsay S. Bish. Vera was a loving wife and mother, friend to many, gifted cook and needle woman. She also traveled extensively, Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, France, Italy, Hong Kong, and Costa Rica, just to name a few.
