Victor Edwards

Visitation: 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, where family will be present to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., May 13, 2010 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare. Funeral Service: 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2010 at the Macksburg United Methodist Church. Interment: Moon Cemetery, rural Macksburg. Victor was born in Saskatchewan, Canada on March 26, 1928; the son of Joshua and Bertha (Platt) Edwards. When Victor was five, the family moved to Iowa and he later graduated from Macksburg High School. He married Delores Berkland at the Candlelight Chapel in Las Vegas on December 23, 1983. Victor was a farmer most of his life and enjoyed raising cows. He also owned and operated Victor Edwards Trucking and had served on the board of directors for the Farmers Cooperative in Macksburg. Victor enjoyed traveling to Arizona and loved to golf. He liked to hunt and fish and looked forward to the skillet throw at Macksburg’s Annual Skillet Days. Victor died Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Madison County Health Care System in Winterset. He was 82. Victor is survived by his wife, Delores Edwards of Macksburg, a son, Dennis Edwards (Liz) of Orient; a daughter, Linda Hennigar (Randy) of Greenfield; a son, Steve Wallace of Dubuque; daughter, Cathy Frisch of Indianola; a sister, Esther Lauer of Winterset; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Gale and Forrest; and 2 sisters, Lola and Velma. Memorials may be directed to Middle River Hospice of Winterset.
