Violet Mae Hudgins

Violet Mae Hudgins died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at the Dallas County Hospital, at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 29 days. Violet was born May 15, 1914 to Selmer and Elise Moen Johnson in Spooner, Wisconsin. As an infant, she and her parents moved to Ellsworth, Iowa and later moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Carl Hudgins on December 27, 1929 in Eagle Grove, Iowa. Violet was a homemaker her whole life. She moved to California in 1960 and later moved back to Perry. Violet loved to do cross word puzzles, sew, garden and cook. She also played cards with a group of ladies. For the last ten years Violet has lived at Perry Health Care, where she was given very good care. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; son, Dawyne; three grandchildren, Richard Hilpipre, Robert Hilpipre, and Robert Arthur; and two sisters. Survivors include daughters, Nancy (Lloyd) Hilpipre of Perry, Iowa, Mary (Kenneth) Hilpipre of Minburn, Iowa, Donna Arthur of Cerritos, California, Carla (Donald) Sheriff of Sweet Springs, Missouri, and Ruth Freeman of Bellflower, California; one son, Jerry(Phyllis) Hudgins of Greensboro, North Carolina; one sister, Marjorie Oldson of Eagle Grove, Iowa; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
