Virginia 'Ginny' Fisher

Funeral Services: 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 23rd at the First Baptist Church in Winterset. A gathering with family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., prior to the service. Graveside Services: 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 24th at the Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. Virginia Lee Coonce Fisher was born November 2, 1958 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of James and Joyce (Crumm) Coonce. She graduated from Raytown South High School, Raytown, Missouri. She married Larry Fisher on July 15, 1989 in Blue Springs, Missouri, where they resided until their move to Winterset in 1995. Ginny worked several years as a driver for HIRTA. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Winterset and also in Raytown, Missouri. Her life and her relationships are testaments to her love of Jesus. She loved camping and enjoyed the many cruises she went on. Ginny loved being a wife and mother and especially loved being a grandma, affectionately known as “Gigi”. Ginny passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Taylor House in Des Moines after an extended illness. She was 52. Ginny is survived by her husband, Larry of Winterset; her two sons, William Winklepleck (wife, Crystal) of Earlham and Matthew Winklepleck (wife, Alison) of Blue Springs, MO; her mother, Joyce Coonce of Raytown, MO; a sister, Dixie Van Hercke (husband, Mark) of Lee’s Summit, MO; a brother, James Coonce (wife, Cindi) of Grain Valley, MO; mother-in-law, Darlene Fisher of Nevada, MO; sister-in-law, Linda McGinnis (husband, John) of Nevada, MO; four grandchildren, Lily, Jonas, Timothy, and Jasper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her father, James Coonce.
