Vivian Thompson

Vivian Thompson 91, of Pinellas Park Fl, formally of Des Moines passed away on May 21, 2015 in Florida. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 30. 2015 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Ankeny, with a Visitation starting at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Suncoast Hospice or Iowa Hospice. Vivian was born on January 18, 1924 in Chester, South Dakota to Clearance and Zoe (Page) Farrand. She worked as a nurse for 23 years before retiring in 1978. She was a member of the United Ostomy Association, Lutherans Womans Missionary League, and the Licensed Practical Nurse Association. She volunteered for 10 years at Iowa Lutheran Hospital and served 2 years on the Iowa Lutheran Hospital Auxiliary Board. She is survived by the children; Ruth (Kevin) Osborne, David (Jane) Thompson, Martha Pennington, and Joseph (Kathy) Thompson, 8 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, parents, siblings; Henry Farrand, Blanch Statz, Clearance Farrand, and Floyd Farrand.
