Funeral services for Walter Fuentes Gavidia, age 13 of Jamaica, will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the Perry High School Gymnasium in Perry. Visitation will be on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Perry High School Gymnasium. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery on Merle Hay Road in Des Moines. Memorials will be given to his family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Walter was a very humble shy son, quiet and respectful. He was very active; he liked to play drums and sing to God. He like to spend time playing basketball in middle school. He wanted to be on the recognition wall of athletes at his school. Walter was full of potential. He loved helping his give food away to the community and preach the Word holding posters. He had dreams and goals to go to the NFL, NBA or any sport. He also wanted to go the Navy and become a police officer or a lawyer. Walter had a big heart full of love and compassion to fulfill his dreams and goals.
