Walter Norman Kistler

A Gathering for Walter Kistler was held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Methodist Church Fireside Room in Perry, Iowa. Hastings Funeral Home in Perry was in charge of the arrangements. Walter Norman Kistler, son of Norman C. Kistler and Halcyon Mae Tolle Kistler, was born July 10, 1948 in Perry, Iowa and died January 16, 2019 at Pearl Valley Rehab and Nursing Home in Perry, Iowa. Walt lived in Perry his whole life. He graduated from Perry High School. Walt and Jean Faber were united in marriage on January 20, 1968 in Minburn, Iowa. The couple was married for 51 years. He enjoyed motorcycle rides, fishing and cars. Walt worked with cars the majority of his life. He was a mechanic and also was in the used car sale business. Walt was preceded in death by his parents, sister Korlyss Mae Kistler and brother-in-law Jack Norskog. He is survived by his wife Jean of Perry; sister Kathleen Norskog of San Diego, California; aunt Doreen Tolle of Missouri; mother-in-law Elsina Faber Sieck of Perry; sister-in-law Pam Vandever of Perry; nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
