Wanda J. Davis (Flynn) Cox was born July 31, 1936 in Winterset, Iowa, the daughter of Frank M. and Iris Pauline (Hendricks) Davis. She married Howard P. Flynn on June 1, 1953 at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Leon, Iowa. Wanda later married Loren Cox on May 4, 1967 in Omaha, Nebraska. She was employed at General Telephone Electronics/Verizon Wireless in Grinnel for 20 years. Wanda is survived by her husband of 40 years, Loren of Gentry, AR; her children, Teresa Bennett (Flynn) of Elko, NV, Timothy Flynn of Otoe, NE and Thomas Flynn (Inge) of Gentry, AR; two step-daughters, Kathy Mook of Osceola and Terri Goodrich of Arvada, CO; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Keith Davis. She and Loren moved from Iowa after her retirement and together they lived in Bella Vista and Gentry, Arkansas. She was currently a Camp Host at Natural Falls State Park in West Siloam Springs Oklahoma for 2 years. Wanda loved making quilts and gardening. She also enjoyed collecting sea shells, traveling and playing cards and other games. Wanda loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Wanda passed away peacefully Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Northwest Medical Center in Benton County, Arkansas. She was 71. Visitation: North McDonald Cemetery, Madison County, Iowa. Service: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the North McDonald Cemetery. Memorial: 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday March 28, 2008 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, Iowa.
