Wayne Oglesbee, 65, of Patterson, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018, at Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, at the Four Square Church in Winterset. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the church. There will be a potluck luncheon following services at the Patterson Community Building in Patterson. Burial will be held at a later date in the Peru Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for a later designation and online condolences can be left at ochiltree.com. Paul Wayne Oglesbee, son of Paul and Marjorie (Huss) Oglesbee, was born July 3, 1953 at the Madison County Hospital. He was the youngest of seven children and the only one to be born in a hospital. He was proud to be an uncle three times before his birth. Until age four he was raised on a small farm south of Martensdale. The family moved to St. Charles where he attended school and graduated from I-35 High School in 1972. Wayne worked at Schellberg Quarry, Cooper Truck Line, Parr Manufacturing and lastly for the Iowa DOT in Martensdale. Wayne was united in marriage with Linda King on December 31, 2017, at the Four Square Church in Winterset. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and participating in demolition derbies and won a derby in 1978 at the Madison County Fairgrounds. Wayne enjoyed going for Gator rides with Linda on the gravel roads around Patterson. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters. Wayne is survived by his wife, Linda Oglesbee of Patterson; son, Josh (Erin) Rogers of Winterset; three granddaughters, Nicole, Patricia and Zoe Rogers; sisters, Dorothy Libby of Winterset; Madge (David) Meisters of Mitchellville; two step-sons, Clayton (Kendra) Cameron; Cody Cameron; brother-in-law, Bob (Joy) King; nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marjorie Oglesbee; brother, Mack Oglesbee; sisters, Norma Oglesbee (in infancy), Margaret Libby and Eleanor Carpenter.
