Wesley John Golay

Wesley John Golay, son of William Jay Golay, and Marjorie Ann Frank Golay was born March 10, 1957 and died January 30, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center at the age of 50 years, 10 months, and 20 days. Wes was born in Carroll, Iowa and grew up in Perry. He attended St. Patrick School and graduated from Perry High School in 1976. He moved to California where he met his future wife Leigh Ann Gibson. They were married in June of 1992 in Sun Valley, California. They lived in Burbank, CA, and moved back to Perry in 1993. While in California he was a laborer for Smith Tool, Ricoh, and also worked at IERC. When he moved back to Perry, he was employed at Tyson from 1993 until April of 2006 when he retired due to his health. Wes loved watching the Rams and Notre Dame football. He also loved music and the rock band KISS. Besides getting married to Leigh Ann, and raising Jamie, his daughter, the most memorable times in his life were when the Rams won the Super Bowl in 2000 and when KISS had a reunion tour. Wes will be greatly missed by his dog, Bailey, and his cat, Cooper. He was preceded in death by his father, William Golay, and brother, Bill Golay. Wes is survived by his wife, Leigh Ann, of Perry; daughter, Jamie Hoover of Des Moines; mother, Marjorie Golay, of Carroll; several aunts and uncles; other relatives and many friends.
