Wesley Preston Tish, Sr., 83, of Winterset, passed away on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Azria Health Winterset. A visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home Winterset Chapel. Family will not be present during this time. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 20 at the Winterset Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 protocols, masks and social distancing will be required. The family requests no flowers and will gratefully forward donations to local organizations Wes supported. Wes was born in Searsboro, Iowa on September 29, 1937, the son of Ed and Ena (Auten) Tish. He married Sherry Goodwin on July 26, 1959 at the Methodist Church in Indianola, Iowa. She preceded him in death on March 28, 2018. Wes graduated from Simpson College and was an ATO Fraternity member. He purchased a farm when he moved to Madison County in 1970 and continued farming after retiring from Sears. Wes worked for Sears in various departments for 37 years. He was a past president of Madison County Farm Bureau and was a Mason. Wes was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ena (Auten) Tish; wife, Sherry; brothers, Clark Tish and Richard Gilbertson. He is survived by his children, Michell (Dale) Cleghorn of Winterset, Elizabeth (Mike) Valentine of Janesville, WI, Wesley Jr. (Michelle) Tish of Carlisle, Michael (Michelle) Tish of Springfield, VA; 7 grandchildren, Greg (Debra) Cleghorn, Matthew Cleghorn, Michael (Alycia) Valentine, Rachel (Jorgen) Rose, Margaret Tish, Briceson Tish, Brandi Tish (Louis Rojas); and 6 great-great grandchildren, Dana, Lawson, Sierra, and Aubrey Cleghorn and Jordan and Jason Rojas.
