A visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 26th at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare in Winterset, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Private burial will be held in the Winterset Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Winterset Care Center North Activity Fund. William 'Bill' Weltha was born April 8, 1925, in Randall, Iowa to Clarion and Julia Weltha. He grew up in the rural Randall area and graduated from Randall High School. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy in June 1943 and served as an Aviation Radioman until November 1945. After the Navy, he attended AIB. On August 11, 1949, Bill married Jeneta Mottet. Bill and Jeneta had a large family of 5 sons and 3 daughters. Bill managed Farmers Co-ops in Swea City, IA, Paola, KS, Winterset, IA, Salina, KS, and Palmyra, MO. He loved to work with and for farmers. After a stroke in 1989, Bill and Jeneta moved back to Winterset to retire where they enjoyed their large and loving family for many years. Bill died on Monday, February 20, 2012 at Winterset Care Center North in Winterset. He was 86. Bill is survived by his sons, Steve (Cathy) Weltha of Azle, TX, Billy Weltha of Winterset, Roger (Cheryl) Weltha of Hollister, MO, and Lynn Weltha of Columbia, MO; his daughters, Lana Drebes (Mike Brady) of Hannibal, MO, Gina (Rob) Pyse of Palmyra, MO, and Brenda (Bill) Graves of Palmyra, MO; brothers, Duane (Bev) Weltha, Lawrence Weltha; sisters, Charlotte Koeingsberg, Jean (Harry) Dole, Joan (Paul) Rouse, and Betty Lage. Bill is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, fourteen and one half great-grandchildren and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeneta; a son, Donald; a great-grandson, Mason Hager; brothers, Reuben, David, and Dennis Weltha; and a sister, Lois Krebs.
