William Donald Myers

William Donald Myers, son of Maynard Myers and Mildred Hanker Myers, was born January 13, 1937 in Boone, Iowa and died January 2, 2007 at his home in Jefferson at the age of 69 years, 11 months, and 19 days. Bill grew up on a farm in the Pilot Mount-Ogden area. He played football during high school and graduated from Ogden Community SChool in 1955. Bill served our counry as a member of the United States National Guard. He married Sharon Lass and they were parents of two children, Bill and Jana. Sharon died in 1961 and Bill continued to live in Ogden and later Boone. He had worked for Doughboy Feed in Ogden and for Iowa Electric Light and Power in teh gas department. He was responsible for installation of new services and maintenance an on old pipe lines. Bill retired in 1997 at the age of 60. On September 4, 2004, Bill married Lou Cory. They then made their home in Jefferson. Bill was a member of the Moose Lodge, the N.R.A. and was a proud union member. He was a Chicago Bears and Cubs fan. Bill was preceded in deathy by his parents; first wife, Sharon; daughter, Jana Laughridge; brothers, Ed and Johnny. He is survived by his wife Lou Cory-Myers of Jefferson; son, Bill and significant other Stacy Steward of Boon; son-in-law, Sam Laughridge of Perry;grandchildren, Curt and Emily Myers, Alex Steward, Jessie and Elizabeth Laughridge,; step-children, Sandy(Bill) Stearns, Scott Pavlik, Shari(Kevin) Scott, Shawn(Laura)Pavlik, James(Katie) Cory, and several setp-grandchildren. Bill is also survived by his rothers, Don(Pam) Myers, Art Myers, and Mike Myers, other relatives and many friends.
