Wilma Maxine Goodman

Wilma was born February 2, 1920 in Monroe Township, Madison County, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Nancy (Cornelison) Foreman. Her marriage to William Henry ‘Bun’ Goodman took place on March 19, 1938 in St. Charles, Iowa. They were married for 68 years and Bun preceded her in death on May 2, 2006. Wilma is survived by her 3 children, Dottie Jo (Stanley) Mount of Lorimor; Jimmie Goodman of Des Moines; Nancy Adams (Jerry DePorter) of Port Byron, IL; 7 grandchildren, Judy, Robin, Steve, Kristen, Michelle, Sharl and Shelley; 15 great grandchildren, Nicki, Anna, Chad, Chelsea, Ashton, Briley, Carsyn, Jordan, Payton, Colin, Cora, Jack, Paige, Joseph and Joshua and extended family, Chuck and Pat Sinclair and family and Kenny and Lottie Wilcox and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bun, a daughter-in-law, Sue Goodman; a brother, Dale Foreman and his wife, Orpha; and a sister, Ollie Van Rossum and her husband, James. Wilma was a devoted mother and farm wife helping raise her children and manage the farming operations with Bun. She also had worked at the Peterson Nursing Home, Schuster Pharmacy, Coast to Coast and J.C. Penney. She was a member of the Lorimor Baptist Church and a life member of the Happy Hour Club of Monroe Township. She was also a 4-H leader for the Monroe Merry Maids as well as a 4-H Committee Woman for 10 years. Wilma was a great cook and loved sharing her food with family and friends, in fact when someone in the neighborhood died; Wilma was the first to arrive with her support and food for the family. Visitation: 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 3, 2008 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, Winterset, Iowa Service: 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2008 at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, Winterset, Iowa Memorial: Memorial contributions may be directed to a fund which has been established in her name.
