Zelma Jane Fagen, daughter of Glen Eldon Krueger and Anita Faith Smith Krueger, was born August 27, 1928 in Bagley, Iowa and died November 4, 2005 in Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 7 days. Zelma grew up on a farm in Guthrie County and graduated from Bagley High School in 1946. On June 29, 1947, Zelma was united in marriage to Richard Harris Fagen at the Bagley United Methodist Church. They were the parents of three daughters: LeAnn, Louise and Linda. The family made their home in Dawson before moving to Vail, Iowa. Zelma enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her daughters. She loved flowers, so gardening gave her much enjoyment. She also loved to sew, especially doll clothes. She had a collection of cardinals and also collected nativity scenes. Zelma also was a huge Nascar fan. Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Eldon at the age of 6, and her husband Richard. She is survived by her daughters: LeAnn Knott and her husband William of State Center, Louise Fagen of Ankeny and Linda Toth and her husband John of West Melbourne, Florida; three grandchildren: Richard Toth and his wife Ginger of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Kristin Toth Freeman and her husband Josh of Manchester, New Hampshire and Sarah Knott of State Center; and one great-grandchild: Willis Freeman; one aunt: Leota Cox of Bagley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
